The campaign
The 10th edition of the free photography contest promoted by Fondazione con il Sud.
On the occasion of the national event ‘RiGenerazione Non Profit’ (‘Re-Generation Non-Profit’), held on 6 and 7 October 2017, in Bologna (information available at www.conilsud.it>>), Fondazione con il Sud launched a free photography contest on the theme of a Southern Italy that ‘re-generates itself’ through the contributions of young people and civil society.
The goal of this social communication initiative was to build a collective photo report, offering a portrait of a South actively driving grassroots change.
The idea of ‘re-generation’ that inspired the contest refers to the process of restoring and improving one’s own local area and community, through intergenerational collaboration and the search for creative and innovative solutions across various fields: environmental, cultural, social, entrepreneurial, urban, and rural.
The initiative, free and open to everyone, drew widespread participation from citizens. A selection of the submitted photographs is available here.
The photographic project by the young people of the ARGO Socio-Educational Centre in Messina, who used images to tell the story of their neighbourhood (S. Lucia sopra Contesse), was featured on the poster of ‘Esperienze con il Sud’, the Foundation’s quarterly print publication, distributed free of charge to thousands of recipients (institutions, foundations, associations, media outlets, and members of the public) and available on request through the Foundation’s website. The publication is also available in digital format at the following link.
