Con i bambini

Fondazione con il Sud is the sole shareholder of the social enterprise Con i bambini, a non-profit enterprise established in June 2016 to implement the programmes of the Fund Against Educational Poverty in Children and Youth.

Our educational mission

The Fund was created in 2016 through a Memorandum of Understanding between the banking foundations represented by Acri, the Italian Government, and the third sector. It is dedicated to ‘supporting experimental initiatives aimed at removing economic, social, and cultural barriers that prevent minors from fully accessing educational opportunities.’

Through calls for proposals and targeted initiatives, Con i bambini has launched over 800 educational initiatives across Italy, with a total of EUR 500 million in funding, reaching 650,000 children and youth together with their families.

Building shared partnerships

Con i bambini has built a network of 10,000 organizations, including third-sector entities, schools, and public and private institutions, helping to strengthen ‘educating communities’ across local areas.

Evaluating impact

Every call for proposals and initiative incorporates a rigorous ex-post impact evaluation, conducted by hundreds of qualified research organizations.

Monitoring educational poverty

The #conibambini Educational Poverty Observatory, launched in partnership with Openpolis, publishes bi-weekly online updates, using a data journalism approach to monitor and explore the issue.

Empowering educating communities

Stories and insights from local communities are featured on the Percorsiconibambini.it portal and the Conmagazine.it video magazine, promoting active participation among youth and educating communities alike.
